What to expect during the process

At Ameliorate, we understand what it's like to feel stuck in old habits despite the desire to change. Overwhelm, stigma and decision fatigue often stop clients from transforming their spaces on their own.

Our unique Amelioration process provides an empathetic & accountability-driven approach. With our strong yet soft approach we can transform your space, but also your life. 

We use 5 simple steps.

​STEP 1 - CONSULTation

​We provide you with a free 1-hour consultation to learn about your life, space, budget, timeline and goals. This can be done in person or over FaceTime or Zoom. You will receive an estimate for your project & plenty of practical advice for free!

STEP 2 - DECLUTTER

​The start of most projects consists of some decluttering, which we do gently in alignment with your specific goals. We also offer resources for removing & recycling unwanted and bulky items.

step 3- REDESIGN

​Every session includes a reconfiguring of systems and rearranging of furniture. Spaces are optimized around light and ergonomics.

STEP 4 - STYLE & CURATE

​Depending on your specified budget, we may:

- Style your space using what you already own

- Build off of your style with some personal shopping for decor

- Curate your space alongside a certified interior designer

Amelia is an organizational rock star. If you're serious about letting go of the old and embracing only what you need and love, she's exactly what you're looking for. I recently decided to turn my primary residence in Malibu into a vacation rental over the summer. I felt confident about the house itself, but not so much about the kitchen and the garage. For me to be able to start renting out to a rather demanding vacation crowd I expected for Malibu, I figured that these areas had to be in a very presentable form. Guests should feel welcome yet not bothered by my personal belongings and at ease to use the space at their desires. I contacted Amelia about my situation. After a free consultation Amelia gave me a very reasonable estimate of two full days of 'amelioration', which honestly I was skeptical initially would give us enough time to do all the work I felt was needed. Fast forward one weekend of intense but fun work together, I could not be more excited about the process with Amelia as well as the result. The garage went from problematic to immaculate, the kitchen went from 'let's better eat out tonight' to a place where people would want to cook a meal and relax. We even had time to go through two bathrooms, which weren't super problematic to begin with, but however are now in much better shape as well. The process itself felt profound to me. I never realized I had so much unneeded stuff that I was now able to either donate or trash. Amelia brought all of the potential to light, and in addition to being the most efficient organizer I can imagine with a great touch for design, Amelia even demonstrated her skill as a mind blowing handy man! I am not kidding when I say she fixed up my motorbike (nose was broken off), my surf rack (wood was broken), as well as my bbq (hammered left side back into shape). I am very grateful for having been part of this process. I feel really confident after working with Amelia that I can rent out my place for top $ in the summer, and I cant wait for my first guests.
